Scientific activity and research at the Department of Geography

In the last five years, the 16 members of staff have published on average 8 papers in international scientific journals, while they have also written and/or edited 39 international and 42 Greek books or book chapters. In the same period the Department has organized and/or participated in the organization of two international and three national congresses. Moreover, a large number of conferences and seminars of a more general geographical interest have been organized by staff members.

During its ten years of operation the Department of Geography has carried out 51 research projects – out of which 12 are international projects – with a total budget of 1,7 million euro.
